2018-2019 School Year

As Director of Membership Welfare, I am a member of various committees such as Labor Relations, Health and Safety and Parity Committee for Special Needs. Through these committees, I represent our teacher members.

My mandate is also to support and guide teachers with regards to:

-Contracts

-Insurance

-Parental Rights

-Leaves of Absence

-Remuneration

-Teacher Workload

-CNESST

Assignment and Transfer Process for 2019-2020

Important dates

By April 15th Declaration of potential school excess

Before April 30th Declaration of excess at board level

May 3rd Posting of needs

May 9th Assignment, re-assignment and transfer meeting (Excess meeting)

Voluntary transfers round one (1)

  • Posting of needs May 14th
  • Application May 17th
  • Decision May 24th

Voluntary transfers round two (2)

  • Posting of needs May 29th
  • Teachers sign up for the meeting by June 4th
  • Meeting June 5th

Exchange of positions (post to post)

Teachers must send in a joint written request to HR by June 1

Recall meetings June 28th and August 23rd

Pension and Insurance

If you need to communicate with the board regarding Pension or Insurance questions, you will need to communicate with Marianne Girard who is temporarily replacing Laura Gargano. You can contact her by phone at 450-621-5600 extension # 1323 or by email at mgirard@swlauriersb.qc.ca.

 

Religious leaves

The new religious leaves clause from our new local agreement is now in effect. Teachers who requested a leave for the teacher’s professed religion, had to make the request by completing the religious holiday request form and return it to the school principal prior to August 31st, 2018. The approved days will remain on file and teachers will no longer need to make the request on a yearly basis, as long as the present local agreement is in effect.
